Fine-art printmaker  ~  Johannesburg

Prints pulled by hand, layer over layer.

Monoprint, linocut, silkscreen and cyanotype ~ collaged into one-off works where chance and registration meet. Collect a piece, or learn the process at the press.

01 / Studio

A return to the press.

Trained at the Wits Technikon, majoring in printmaking ~ now working between print, drawing and collage.

I spent years in commercial creative work and never stopped feeling the pull back to make my own. The press is where I found my authentic voice ~ playful, a little satirical, rooted in the city.

I work monoprint as a base and layer over it with linocut or silkscreen, then bring in cyanotype, drawing and collage. Each piece stands alone yet belongs to a series. The hardest, most rewarding part is registration ~ holding every layer in place so the image reads as one.

Johannesburg is home: a shifting urban space that intimidates, intrigues and feeds the work. I plan most pieces in Photoshop, then commit them to very old technology ~ the etching press.
